FourSquare.com, a social media geo-location publishing tool, is a great way to find and meet people who are interested in the same things/places as you. On your smart phone (IPhone, Android, Windows 7), you can install the FourSquare app (it's free!) to begin "Checking In" everywhere you go. Heading over to Starbucks? Seeing a show at your local bar? Both are prime examples of "Check-ins" used regularly by all FourSquare users. If you use Twitter or Facebook, you can even link your FourSquare account to facilitate automatic tweets & updates. It's particularly useful if you want your friends to know where you are at all times (kinda creepy? nah...).
As you begin to use the service, you can earn "Badges" and "Mayorships" that showcase your prowess as a FourSquare-er. The Swarm Badge is particularly elusive, as you must check-in where there are 49 other active FourSquare check-ins. Lucky for us, many DMB fans use the service already... so make sure you check-in at the next concert!
